ذوالنورین کا مطلب "دو نوروں والا" ہوتا ہے۔ یہ لفظ عربی زبان سے اردو میں آیا ہے۔ "ذو" کا مطلب "دو" ہوتا ہے اور "نورین" کا مطلب "دو نور" ہوتا ہے۔ یہ لفظ قرآن میں بھی استعمال ہوتا ہے۔
قرآن میں "ذوالنورین" کا ذکر سورہ النور میں آیا ہے۔ اس سورہ کے 35ویں آیت میں آیا ہے جہاں اللہ تعالیٰ کا فرمان ہے:
"اللَّهُ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ مَثَلُ نُورِهِ كَمِشْكَاةٍ فِيهَا مِصْبَاحٌ ۖ الْمِصْبَاحُ فِي زُجَاجَةٍ ۖ الزُّجَاجَةُ كَأَنَّهَا كَوْكَبٌ دُرِّيٌّ يُوقَدُ مِن شَجَرَةٍ مُّبَارَكَةٍ زَيْتُونَةٍ لَّا شَرْقِيَّةٍ وَلَا غَرْبِيَّةٍ يَكَادُ زَيْتُهَا يُضِيءُ وَلَوْ لَمْ تَمْسَسْهُ نَارٌ ۚ نُّورٌ عَلَىٰ نُورٍ ۗ يَهْدِي اللَّهُ لِنُورِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ ۚ وَيَضْرِبُ اللَّهُ الْأَمْثَالَ لِلنَّاسِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ"
اس آیت میں اللہ تعالیٰ کو "نور السماوات والأرض" یعنی "آسمانوں اور زمین کا نور" کہا گیا ہے۔ اس نور کی مثال بھی دی گئی ہے کہ جیسے ایک مشکاہ میں مصباح ہوتا ہے اور وہ مصباح ایک شیشے کی بتل میں ہوتا ہے اور وہ بتل ایک چمکتا ہوا ستارہ کی طرح ہوتی ہے جو ایک مبارک زیتون کے درخت کی شاخ سے روشنی دیتا ہے۔ اس طرح اس نور کی روشنی بغیر کسی آگ کے ہوتی ہے۔ یہ نور نور کی روشنی پر روشنی چڑھاتا ہے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ جس کو چاہتا ہے اس کو اپنے نور کی طرف ہدایت فرماتا ہے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ لوگوں کے لئے مثالیں بیان کرتا ہے اور اللہ تعالیٰ ہر چیز کو جانتا ہے۔
Meaning of Zulnoorain in Urdu and in the Quran
The meaning of Zulnoorain is "possessor of two lights" in Urdu. This word is derived from the Arabic language and is used in Urdu as well. It is also mentioned in the Quran.
In the Quran, the mention of "Zulnoorain" is found in Surah An-Nur. It is mentioned in the 35th verse of this Surah, where Allah Almighty says:
"Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things."
In this verse, Allah Almighty is referred to as the "Light of the heavens and the earth." An example of this light is given, comparing it to a lamp within a glass, which is like a shining star derived from the oil of a blessed olive tree. This light shines without the need for any fire. This light is described as "light upon light." Allah guides towards His light whomever He wills. Allah Almighty presents examples for the people, and He is knowledgeable about everything.
