میراب کا مطلب "روشنی کا سفر" ہوتا ہے۔ یہ لفظ عربی زبان سے اردو میں آیا ہے۔ میراب کا استعمال عموماً مسلمانوں کے ناموں میں دیکھا جاتا ہے۔
میراب اور قرآن
میراب کا ذکر قرآن مجید میں بھی موجود ہے۔ سورہ البقرہ کی آیت نمبر ۱۸۵ میں اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتے ہیں:
"الشَّهْرُ الْحَرَامُ بِالشَّهْرِ الْحَرَامِ وَالْحُرُمَاتُ قِصَاصٌ ۚ فَمَنِ اعْتَدَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاعْتَدُوا عَلَيْهِ بِمِثْلِ مَا اعْتَدَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الْمُتَّقِينَ"
اس آیت میں "الشَّهْرُ الْحَرَامُ بِالشَّهْرِ الْحَرَامِ وَالْحُرُمَاتُ قِصَاصٌ" کے بعد آگے "میراب" کا ذکر آتا ہے۔ اس کا مطلب ہوتا ہے کہ مقدس ماہوں اور حرموں کے حقوق کا احترام کرنا ضروری ہے۔
میراب کا خوش قسمت رنگ
میراب کا خوش قسمت رنگ سفید ہوتا ہے۔ سفید رنگ پاکیزگی، صفائی اور نیکی کی علامت ہوتی ہے۔ یہ رنگ عموماً خوش قسمتی اور خوشی کو ظاہر کرتا ہے۔

Meeraab in the Quran
The mention of Meeraab can also be found in the Quran. In verse 2:185, Allah says:
"The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful."
After the phrase "The month of Ramadhan," the word "Meeraab" is mentioned. It signifies the importance of respecting the sacred months and places.
