خوش بخت نام کا مطلب ہوتا ہے "مبارک بخت والا" یا "خوش قسمت". یہ نام عربی زبان سے اردو میں آیا ہے۔
قرآن میں بھی "خوش بخت" کا ذکر کیا گیا ہے۔ قرآن میں سورة الأنعام کی آیت نمبر ۱۲۰ میں اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتے ہیں:
"وَذَٰرِيَّتِيَ مِن بَعْدِهِم مُّحَرَّمٌۢ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ"
جس کا مطلب ہوتا ہے:
"اور میری نسل میرے بعد حرام ہوگئی ہے، کیا لوگ شکر کرنے والے نہیں ہوں گے؟"
