Tsonga

The Tsonga language (Xitsonga) is a southern African Bantu language spoken by the Tsonga people. It is mutually intelligible with Tswa and Ronga, and the name “Tsonga” is often used as a cover term for all three. Dialects of Tsonga proper are Changana (Xichangana), the prestige dialect, Gwamba a.k.a. Gwapa, Hlave, Jonga (Dzonga), Kande, Luleke (Xiluleke), Nhlanganu (Shihlanganu), Nkuna, N’walungu (Shingwalungu), Songa, and Xonga (Ssonga).
