خاور نام اردو زبان کا ایک مشہور نام ہے۔ یہ لڑکوں کے لئے استعمال ہوتا ہے۔ خاور کا مطلب ہوتا ہے "مشرق" یا "شرقی"۔ اس نام کا مطابقتی نام عربی زبان میں "شرق" ہوتا ہے۔
قرآن میں بھی "خاور" کا ذکر کیا گیا ہے۔ سورة البلد میں آیت نمبر 15 میں اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتے ہیں:
"فَلَا اُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ"
جس کا مطلب ہوتا ہے:
"میں خاور کی قسم کھاتا ہوں"
