عثمان نام اردو زبان کا ایک مشہور نام ہے۔ یہ عربی زبان سے منسوب ہے اور اس کا مطلب "بنیاد" یا "سنگ پشت" ہوتا ہے۔ عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ اسلامی تاریخ میں مشہور صحابی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تھے۔ انہوں نے اسلام کی خدمت میں بہت بڑا کردار ادا کیا اور خلافت کے دوران بھی اہم کردار ادا کیا۔
عثمان نام کا ذکر قرآن مجید میں بھی موجود ہے۔ سورہ الحجرات کی آیت نمبر ۱۳ میں اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتے ہیں:
"یَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ وَأُنثَىٰ وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ شُعُوبًا وَقَبَائِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوا ۚ إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِندَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ"
اس آیت میں اللہ تعالیٰ نے انسانوں کو یہ بتایا ہے کہ وہ انہیں مرد اور عورت سے پیدا کیا ہے اور انہیں مختلف قوموں اور قبائل میں تقسیم کیا ہے تاکہ وہ آپس میں معرفت کریں۔ اللہ تعالیٰ کے نزدیک تمام انسانوں میں سب سے بردبار و پرہیزگار والا وہی ہے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ سب کچھ جاننے والا اور سب کچھ جاننے والوں کو آگاہ کرنے والا ہے۔
Meaning of the Name Usman in Urdu and in the Quran
Usman is a popular name in the Urdu language. It is derived from the Arabic language and its meaning is "foundation" or "backbone". Usman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) was a famous companion of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Islamic history. He played a significant role in the service of Islam and also during the period of caliphate.
The name Usman is also mentioned in the Quran. In verse 49:13 of Surah Al-Hujurat, Allah says:
"O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted."
In this verse, Allah informs humanity that He has created them from male and female and divided them into different nations and tribes so that they may recognize each other. The most honorable among them in the sight of Allah is the one who is most righteous. Allah is the All-Knowing and Well-Acquainted with everything.
